COVID -19 raised awareness about the importance of controlling the spread of infection. Parker at Somerset is a revolutionary 120-bed facility designed with spacious suites and ensuite bathrooms built in a way to be reconfigured and retrofitted with the evolution of infection control technology for seniors. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for rehabilitation, touchless access points, and surfaces treated to prevent bacterial spread. Visiting areas have negative air pressure systems fitted to prevent air from circulating to other areas. T&M provided comprehensive site/civil engineering, design and construction inspection services and facilitated the accelerated installation of an emergency sewer pump station. Prior to the actual regulatory release date, T&M integrated innovative NJDEP green infrastructure requirements stormwater management measures throughout the site, including pervious pavement. Careful attention was made to preserve the surrounding natural vegetation and environmentally sensitive areas to the maximum extent practicable. The advanced, compact, and sustainable design has helped the modern facility become a game-changer for senior care.
