The client, the US Air Force / AIS Constructors, approached T&M to develop alternative wellfield communication networks at the March Air Reserve Base. T&M provided value engineering to conclude that a cellular control network was the best alternative to monitor the treatment facility. The project involves PLC and SCADA programming, panel fabrication and systems commissioning for (12) extraction wells, and (3) intermediate groundwater collection tanks feeding water to the centralized treatment system. Original communications fiber optic network was designed by another firm, the existing physical infrastructure could not support the original design.
The new SCADA system allows for fully remote secure access and monitoring of the treatment facility. We provided a cybersecure access to the system, integrated email and text message alarm notifications, and additional remote access for control and data access via a mobile phone application.
T&M’s deliverables were performed within budget and within the scheduled timeframe and continues to provide on-going support services as needed.
