Primary Drinking Water Standards for Six PFAS Chemicals Proposed

March 14, 2023
The USEPA has proposed primary drinking water standards for six per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). PFAS are commonly referred to as forever chemicals as they don’t readily degrade in the environment and have been linked to a broad range of health issues. The National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) would establish legally enforceable levels, Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs), for these six PFAS.
