T&M’s Paul Sweetwood Presents Combined Heat and Power Project in Conjunction with NJ Clean Energy Program

September 3, 2020

T&M’s Paul Sweetwood, PE, DGCP, had the honor of presenting the Ocean County, NJ Combined Heat and Power project as part of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Clean Energy CHP Program presentation.

T&M provided the initial assessment, detailed design, NJ Office of Clean Energy (OCE) incentive application services, and construction support services for the 600 kW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) installation. The system serves the Ocean County Justice Complex, Jail and Courthouse facilities in Toms River, NJ. The Level 2 Microgrid provides both electric and thermal energy to the facilities to displace less efficient and less cost-effective utility supplies and also provides resiliency during periods when normal electric power is curtailed for any period of time.

T&M has been serving Ocean County as an appointed Energy Consultant since 2011. In addition to the CHP project, our energy team has assisted the County with numerous energy assessments, designs and installations as well as New Jersey Clean Energy Program incentives.

In addition to being a Professional Engineer, Sweetwood is certified by the Association of Energy Engineers as a Distributed Generation Certified Professional. His 40 years of engineering experience encompasses a broad range of concentrations with a focus on energy and utility projects, as well as campus-wide utilities and site development. Projects have included utility, renewable energy, municipal, educational, pharmaceutical, healthcare, water/wastewater, and industrial facilities, as well as high-pressure pumping system designs.
