September 15, 2020

Engineering News-Record (ENR) is the key trade publication covering the architecture, engineering, and construction industry worldwide. Their annual Regional Best Projects Awards program is dedicated to honoring the best construction projects and the companies that designed and built them in twenty specialized categories, ranging from airports to sports/entertainment.

As part of the New York region’s 2020 program, T&M’s Iowa Court & South Green Living Shoreline Project in Little Egg Harbor and Tuckerton, NJ won in the Green Project category.

Installation of a living shoreline is a ground-breaking technique used in Little Egg Harbor and Tuckerton to recreate the natural functions of a shoreline ecosystem with the use of vegetative planting, low-profile rock, shell reefs and other natural materials. This new approach has gained great interest evidenced by recent recognition and interest from other towns also fighting shoreline erosion. This innovative project will add future value to the engineering profession and will serve as a model for future coastal restoration.
