NSPE-NJ Announces New President, Tejal Patel

We are pleased to announce that T&M’s Tejal Patel, PE, CME, LEED AP, Associate, Group Manager, has been inducted as New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers’ (NSPE-NJ) President for the 2022-2023 term. Tejal will be stepping into this leadership role at the state level as the first Asian-American woman engineer to be elected as President of NSPE-NJ.

Tejal has 20+ years of extensive public and private experience in the management and design of transportation planning and infrastructure, traffic engineering, site development, and municipal engineering. Patel believes that engineering has the power to take any abstract idea and translate it into reality. Her leadership style is built around her beliefs in honesty and trust. She believes that strong female executives and leaders optimize trust and engagement of others by encouraging all voices around the table, regardless of gender, to speak and contribute.

“As NSPE-NJ’s incoming President, I will be an advocate for the Engineering Profession and will strive to advance the ethical and competent practice of Engineering,” said Patel, “My vision mirrors that of NSPE, to deliver the greatest value to our members, advance the great profession of engineering and serve the public good. My involvement in the NSPE-NJ has had a positive impact on my career and made me a better engineer.”
