CIANJ’s Commerce Magazine Honors T&M with Environmental Leadership Recognition Award

April 15, 2022

CIANJ and Commerce Magazine are celebrating environmental achievements, which coincides with the celebration of Earth Day, in their April issue. They are recognizing individuals and companies who have worked to make improvements to New Jersey’s environment through green building, recycling, brownfields remediation and more.

The National Park Borough in partnership with T&M have been honored with this well-deserved Environmental Leadership Award for their work to remove contaminates which will improve water quality for over 3,000 residents.

In the spring of 2020, National Park Borough was notified that routine testing of a water sample resulted in levels of Perfluorononanoic Acid (PFNA) above drinking water standards. The Borough contracted T&M to complete a feasibility study for upgrading the water treatment equipment to remove the PFAS chemicals.

A permanent adsorptive water treatment system was designed to remove PFAS compounds to non-detect levels. T&M’s services included, grant/loan assistance, planning, design, permitting, construction inspection, environmental inspection and contract administration, and reviews by authorized groups/agencies. The project is being funded with loans from the NJ Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program, NJ Environmental Infrastructure Trust Loan with principal forgiveness up to $500,000 and a $1M grant from the USDA, Rural Development Program. With all design work and permitting now complete, construction on this important project is scheduled to begin in mid-May of 2022.
