Oscar Suros Named Engineer of the Year
Middletown, NJ -- Oscar Suros, P.E. formerly of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and T&M Associates of Middletown, N.J., was today named as the Engineer of the Year by the Central Jersey Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at an awards dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Monroe, N.J.
Suros is widely recognized as one of the leading transportation and infrastructure engineers in the Northeast. Suros had a 34 year career at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey where he was the chief structural engineer and assistant chief engineer for design for the bi-state agency. He joined T&M Associates in 2003 and was named as T&M’s Director of Transportation in 2006.

As Director of Transportation, Suros has been responsible for the management of T&M Associates’ bridges, highways, construction services, and civil design divisions. He played a key role in T&M’s largest transportation projects with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the Delaware River Port Authority, the Burlington County Bridge Commission, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Authority, and a variety of county and municipal agencies.
Suros graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1968, and Columbia University with a Master of Science in Architectural Technology in 1974. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and New York, a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Suros resides in Holmdel, N.J.
