T&M's staff has experience
in a variety of mass transit projects involving rail, light rail,
buses and ferries. Projects include project management assistance
to agencies and the design of rail stations and park-ride improvements.
Project management assistance
projects include the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Transit System
and the Union County Light Rail System. Services provided include:
- Develop and/or review
design criteria
- Assist with the negotiations
of design-build cost with the contractor
- Develop methodology
to negotiate the design-build contract
- Develop the design-build
direct costs using quantities, crew costs, material costs, productivity
rates and after cost factors
- Review design-build
concept/plans
- Develop alternative
design concepts to reduce costs (i.e. different station design,
alternative bridge superstructure)
- Develop and assist in
negotiation of the project schedule with the contractor.
T&M has also completed
the design of rail station improvements (building, site, parking
and platform) at a number of locations including:
- Red Bank Train Station
- designed improvements to the lowl-level platform, site, parking
and bus layout, building renovations and landscaping.
- Bradley Beach Train
Station - provided concept plans and construction documents for
restoring the historic train station as well as the entire length
of the Route 71 (Main Street) streetscape.
- Woodbridge Train Station
- new entries on inbound and outbound sides and landscaping.
- Middletown Train Station
- reorganized and expanded the park-ride on the inbound side.
T&M also designed
several bus related facilities including:
- Interchange 165 Park-Ride
- designed and provided construction services for the 208 car
park-ride served by NJT Buses at Garden State Parkway Interchange
165.
- Interchange 165 Park-Ride
Expansion - the success of the Interchange 165 Park-Ride led
to the New Jersey Highway Authority to authorize T&M to work
directly with the contractor to implement a 98 car expansion
at this location.
T&M's recent project
to develop the contract documents for a new rail freight bridge
and four-lane roadway bridge in South Amboy involved crossing
over NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line. This project included
the relocation of catenary supports, reprofiling of the catenary
and relocation of the traction power and signal power feeds.
